Competitive Race Walk: This is NEW for this race and is by popular request. Due to a number of questions about what a "Competitive Race Walk" entails, it is a "fast walk" NOT just "a stroll through the park". It is meant to be competitive and each race walker will wear a Championship Chip on their shoe to record their time. There will be no award sgiven this year as we expect the number of walkers to be quite low, but the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers will be recognized and will set the course record for this event in the future.

START on S. Broad St. (in front of county library), south to intersection of S. Broad & Country Club Rd.@traffic light onto Country Club Rd. to left onto Gallomore Rd. Then to Jighway 276, take left to traffice ligt and right onto Park View Dr. Park Viuew Dr. to left onto French Broad St., down the hill to left onto Johnson St. Up the hill pass E. Main St. to right onto E. Morgan to left onto S. Gaston St. to FINISH Line.
Timing: Timing provided by SETUP EVENTS Chips: Championship Chips provided on race day
Lost, damaged or non-returned chips will result in a $25 charge.

NOTE: Winner MUST be present after the race to receive medals. Medals cannot be mailed and will not be available after the presentation of the awards.
